RIVERSIDE, CA – Educational leaders from across the state gather for the Community College League of California’s (League) 2019 Annual Convention, held November 21-23 at the Riverside Convention Center in Riverside, California. The Annual Convention is an opportunity for the nation’s largest postsecondary education system in the country to convene and share best practices, tools, knowledge, and expertise aimed at increasing the effectiveness of local partnerships and initiatives and strengthening the implementation of statewide policies. This year’s theme, Exploring Possibilities, Discovering Our Successes encourages industry experts and community college leaders to explore new opportunities for the system’s 115 colleges and 2.1 million students, while also discovering how successful services and programs can be expanded and replicated across several California Community College campuses.

SACRAMENTO, CA - Over the weekend, the California Community College Trustees (CCCT) convened for their Annual Business Meeting during the Community College League of California’s (League) 2019 Annual Trustees Conference. A report on the work of the association was provided, newly elected board members were introduced, and trustees had the opportunity to offer direction to the CCCT Board on major issues facing students and their districts.

SACRAMENTO, CA - Today, California Assembly Concurrent Resolution 31 (ACR 31) passed the State Assembly Floor unanimously with 67 co-authors. Introduced by Assemblymember Monique Limón, ACR 31 recognizes April 2019 as California Community College Month. The Community College League of California (League) and the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) join the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, the State Legislature, and community colleges across the state in celebrating the academic achievements and civic contributions of California’s community colleges.
