AB 358 – SIGNED

AB 358 by Assemblymember Dawn Addis would exempt California Community College district student housing architectural plans from requiring approval from the Department of General Services’ (DGS) Division of the State Architect (DSA). Districts can choose to receive DSA oversight on housing plans upon request.

AB 358 was signed into law by Governor Newsom on July 21, 2023, and will go into effect on January 1, 2024. Thank you to all the colleges and advocates who submitted letters of support for this important measure.
