CCLC Support and Resources for Baccalaureate Degree Programs

In our continued efforts to advocate for the local impact community colleges have on their students and economies, the Community College League of California actively supports colleges' plans to affirm baccalaureate programs on their campuses. The CCLC Board of Directors has committed to this priority, and League President/CEO Larry Galizio serves on the California Community College Baccalaureate Association as its secretary-treasurer.

As an additional point of support from the League, President/CEO Larry Galizio has appointed Rina Kasim, who many of you know from her role with our Government Relations team and other programs, as a coordinator for the baccalaureate degree program (BDP). Rina is available to our membership to connect resources including advocacy, processes, or other assistance.

Community college baccalaureate degree programs are essential to the students and regions they serve. They bring affordable degrees to place-bound students, providing them a route to careers in desirable industries. BDPs are our colleges’ solution to the unique needs of their local communities especially as they are often developed in partnership with regional industry. The Community College League of California is committed to supporting our colleges and districts as they identify and implement these essential degree programs.
